Dutch Gelpolish

Our store has been around for about ten years now, including eight years in the nail business. Two years ago we started branding. With all the experience we have gained in recent years and after having worked with different brands for a long time, it was time for the next step: our own brand!
A brand that completely meets all the needs of the nail stylist and the customer.

We have spent years of time and energy to create nail products to our liking. Also by observing and using the previous brands (Orly, Brillbird, Gelish, Gelbottle) we finally found a perfect formula: good quality, a lot of variety in colors and an affordable price.
By now we have created a large assortment of 206 different gel polish colors. In addition to all these unique colors of gel polish, you can now also contact us for Acrylic Gel, NIAB (Nails In A Bottle) and many other nail products!

In addition to products, we also offer services. For example, we have devised our own step-by-step plan with our own tools and products so that you can easily apply gel polish yourself at home. We offer you support at all times.
We give various trainings to bring out the best nail stylist in you.

Is there a difference between nail polish and gel polish?
There
are indeed differences between nail polish and gel polish. The biggest difference is in the curing process of the products. With nail polish, this takes place naturally without UV/LED, so you have to apply the nail polish at a reasonable pace to get it nice and even on the nail.
Unlike nail polish, the curing process of gel polish only takes place when it is exposed to UV/LED light. This means that the gel polish can be worked on until it is just the way you want it!
Gel polish has a solid structure which makes it a lot stronger than nail polish. An advantage of this is that the gel polish offers some strength to the nail. This makes your gel polish a lot nicer and longer lasting than nail polish, and you can enjoy at least 14 days of perfectly polished nails.
It is often thought that the natural nail is damaged when applying gel polish, but with proper knowledge and handling, the nail will certainly not be damaged.

How to use gel polish
Before the gel polish can be applied, a pre-treatment should be done to prepare the nails. A handy tip that I like is to put all your products in the right order. This way you can easily grab the products when you're working with the client, and also you can't accidentally forget any of our steps. Forgetting any of the steps in our step-by-step plan will affect the final result. This can cause the minimum 14 days that the gel polish should last cannot be achieved.

Beforehand, the Cleanser of Dutch Gelpolish is sprayed on the hands and nails to disinfect them. Next, the cuticles are pushed back well with the cuticle pusher, and then the cuticle area is well cleared of dead skin cells. For this we use a bit in the shape of a tip, so that we can get well under the cuticles. This is very important for the end result. First, to apply the gel polish as tightly and as far as possible to the cuticles, and second, to prevent air from getting under the gel polish, which can cause the gel polish to come off the natural nail.
If there are still any loose sheets on the nail area after this, they can be removed with skin clippers. Be careful not to cut into the skin!
Carefully roughen the nail with a buffer block. Roughening ensures that the basecoat adheres well to the nail. If this is not done correctly, the natural nail can be damaged. If you have followed the top steps, you can now file the nails into the desired shape, you do this with a 180 grit file. Once the nails are filed into desired shape, dust the nails with a nail brush.
Now you can apply Dutch Gelpolish's Prep & Prime to a cellulose swab to degrease the nail. Cellulose swabs are special cotton balls designed not to form lint, which sometimes happens with regular cotton balls. Ideal!
It is very important not to touch the nails after this step, otherwise the nail may become oily again and the gel polish will not adhere properly. The last step of the pre-treatment is to apply the Mega Bonding Primer of Dutch Gel Polish so that the gel polish adheres extra well.
It sometimes happens that the gel polish peels off. This is not due to the gel polish but often to the way the pre-treatment is carried out. So it is possible that by forgetting just one step the gel polish will not fully adhere. This, of course, is what we want to prevent.

Now that the nails are prepared, you can start painting! As with normal nail polish, apply a thin layer of Dutch Gelpolish Basecoat. Among other things, the Basecoat ensures a smooth undercoat, protection of the natural nail and better adhesion of the gel polish. Once you have applied this on the first hand, you can put it in the LED lamp. You do this for 60 seconds.
NOTE: It can vary per lamp brand how long you have to let the gel polish harden. Check the wattage of your lamp!
Then do the same with the other hand. With our gel polish colors you apply 2 layers. After each coat you put your hands in the lamp again for 60 seconds. A topcoat is applied on top of the gel polish to give the nail a nice finish and to give it a long-lasting shine. In our gel polish collection we also have three different topcoats with glitter and a matte Topcoat, if you want something different than a shine Topcoat.

Gel polish removal
To remove gel polish, there are again different techniques from regular nail polish. The gel polish sits more firmly on the nail than ordinary nail polish, so it cannot be removed with nail polish remover. In our salon we remove the gel polish with an electric file. In doing so, we leave part of the Basecoat on the nail, so the natural nail will not be damaged.

At home most people do not have an electric file, but it is certainly possible to remove your gel polish yourself. You can do this with our Gel Polish Remover, in combination with the remover wraps. First you remove the gloss layer of the gel polish by roughing it up with a file. To remove the gel polish, put the Gelpolish Remover on the remover wraps. These are special nail wraps that you can wrap around the finger, allowing the gel polish to soak off the nail. Next, the wrapped nails should be held under the LED lamp for ten minutes. Once the hands are out of the lamp you can remove the wraps and in circular motions remove the Gel polish. Now there may be some pieces of Gelpolish left on the nail. You can easily remove these with a cuticle pusher.
Finally, you can apply a caring cuticle oil. Our oils from Nail Creation provide optimal care for the cuticles. These smell delicious! We have four different scents in our shop: Pineapple, Coconut, Almond and Peach.

Other products
As I mentioned earlier, we have 206 different colors. These are divided into all kinds of collections. Examples are the Bubblegum, Romance, Cotton Candy, Ibiza Love and many more collections! On our website www.dutchnailstore.nl you can find all our colors. You will also find all other products needed for applying and removing gel polish.

Recently we have no less than eleven different colors of Colorbase in our assortment. This is a base coat suitable for underneath the less opaque colors. It makes any imperfections of the nail less visible, so you immediately have a nicer coverage with these colors!

We also recently started working with a new product called the NIAB. This is short for "Nails In A Bottle.
NIAB is a soak off builder gel. This means that the product is suitable for building up the natural nail. The texture of NIAB is between a rubber base and a normal (hard) gel. This texture is exactly what makes the product so unique and nice to work with.
We are very excited about this product. After all, with a NIAB treatment our goal is to get the best out of our own nails!
NIAB saturates the natural nail. This is because the product is absorbed by the natural nail. NIAB is so flexible that it is able to move with the natural nail. Unlike other products, NIAB is absorbed by the nail. This means that with repeated use, the nail is strengthened from the inside out!
